Comprehensive Compliance Compendium
This starts with an established updated Compliance
Manual of 650 pages.
And, there is a
CORE KNOWLEDGE section
that is designed to read first that gives the game plan towards
strict compliance.
There is a
summary of the steps
necessary.
The FINAL
SECTION are copies
of every Law that I can identify since about 1980.
I think that I have identified all of them, but, I will send
updates when I can identify still more.
I have added many more "lectures" to this. A lecture is a 1 or
2 page article on something important and written by an
expert. This is a short read
and it really give you some good info in bite sized pieces. The
Staffers can read each lecture and write a paragraph on it to
show that she read
it and that proves the mandatory education part.
It looks that the CCC has about 100 lectures at this time. And,
over time, it will fill out it's own 4 inch notebook.
OIG: They have morphed into one scary organization. I enclose
an excellent lecture of one hour with slides. This is a must
if you hope to keep your hard earned money yours.
HIPAA -- major law. I am waiting for prepared stuff on this.
As the AGs where given money on this, they will be
aggressive. The more I study this, the more I realize how
little I know
HITECH - only 150 audits so far. The seven sister states,
high income specialties, and targeted CPTs are at risk.
ERISA: Have not included this yet. Another law with insane
detail. I would limit all laws and regulations to 2 pages.
Punch List: This is something to
give to a staffer to do. It has the mandatory posters and
everything else. I will make it easy. Give this sheet and
your debit card to your staffer
and chill. Spend a few bucks here and suck it up. At any
rate, it much cheaper than the fines.
Questionnaire: I will mail or fax
this to you. Lots of questions and the answers are mandatory
for the HIPAA-HITECH compliance book.
Links: I will not print out lots of this CCC but give you the
links for you to do so and to add to your notebooks.
Coding: This is my weakest section but I am working on it. I
am working to get certified by test for this.
Can we stop the progression from the sample to the entire
practice? Yes. There are provisions in the law and
regulations.
RACs, ZPICs, HEAT, etc. Got it. No problem. Get up to speed
fast. These are ways to get Medicare money back in a major way.
MSDS: Mandatory for every room.. If you already have them,
why not share with me so we can make a library for all to use?
FAX to me at 202-318-0063. Thanks.
If you don't have them, you will get instructions on how to do
this.
Nursing Home, etc: If you own a piece of this, you are in
trouble. The regs could be impossible to comply with.
Total: There is no question that the CCC will be at
over 5000 pages or 12 --4 inch notebooks. This takes up 44
inches on your shelf.
Is this crazy? I think so. But, when I am assembling a
comprehensive plan, this is it. Any in office surprise
auditor will be shocked to see the extent that the doctor has
worked to comply with government. ( 44 inches of Compliance
Notebooks on the doctor's shelf? ) And the OIG gives brownie
points for the pursuit of compliance. And with monthly
updates, there is no doubt that one is working towards
compliance.
The future: An acceleration of regulations. The CCC is
designed so that I can update is the sections are numbered.
Remember to keep the sections orderly or else the updates will
never
make any sense.
As regulations change and there are difference of opinions on
interpretation, and even the regulators don't know what they are
doing often, there can never be any guarantees
or assurances on anything in the CCC. Always consult with your
qualified health care lawyer. A CPRJ Certifed lawyer is best.
